Transition Year Science Trip - Clongowes Wood College

Posted: 22nd October 2012

On Thursday the 18th of October transition year students went on a trip to Dublin to see what nano science was all about. They traveled in groups to different locations including the Science Gallery workshop where they made a complicated LED torch by soldering pieces together.

After a meal at the trinity college canteen they headed of for a journey to the science gallery at Pearse Street to learn more about nano science and materials being developed, they learned many exciting things like the super-hydrophobic material and the proper magic putty which could deflected a bullet or if hit softly acts like clay/play-do.

The transition year students came back more educated and enthusiastic about the science which they all loved.
