Last week saw the arrival of the much-anticipated latest issue of The Clongownian in the school. The journal was presented to the Headmaster, Fr Leonard Moloney sj by the editor, Mr Declan O’Keeffe and later distributed to the pupils and staff. Every year The Clongownian attempts to reflect the breadth of activity in the school, be it academic, cultural, pastoral, religious or sporting and this issue is no different.
The front cover (and the leading feature article) pay tribute to the remarkable mathematical modeling project, which is unique to Clongowes, and that is just the first in a plum pudding feature section that includes historical pieces on the 1918-19 influenza pandemic in the school, the Prosperous Crosier as well as some intrigue and assassination in the pages of The Clongownian back in the day…
We hope that this latest issue of The Clongownian will live up to hopes and expectations and that it will provide an enjoyable read and an entertaining reminder of the past year in Clongowes Wood College.
Declan O’Keeffe, Editor, The Clongownian
