This year, the Syntax Parent Day will take place on Sunday October 20th as indicated on the school calendar. We are very pleased to announce that Fr. Peter McVerry S.J. will be speaking at the Syntax Parent Day. Fr. McVerry is an Old Clongownian and an Irish Jesuit who needs little introduction to many of us. He is a powerful voice especially as a champion of the plight of those on the margins of society, who are homeless and suffer various addictions.
Fr. McVerry is a most engaging and enlightening speaker whose perspective comes from years of personal experience working and living in inner city Dublin and Ballymun, and working day-today with people in desperate need of care. In his presentation he will touch on aspects of his book The Meaning is in the Shadows as well as Jesus. Social Revolutionary?
The day will begin at approximately 10.15 with Mass in the Sports Hall and will end about 1.30pm. If you have not yet done so, please RSVP to Liz Griffin at firstname.lastname@example.org or 045-838294
