Today, Sunday 7th October the Rhetoric Parents came together to participate in the C.W.C. Parent Enrichment and Ignation Formation Programme. The main agenda for today’s gathering was the subject of mental health. The event was lead by Aisling English (Director of Ethos at C.W.C.) and Fr. Moloney (Headmaster) with guest speakers Dr. Gillian O’Brien (Director of Education and Training) and Ms. Micheline Egan (Director of Communications) of Headstrong Ireland, the National Centre for Youth Mental Health. The event provided a learning opportunity for parents to become aware of emotional education techniques and guidelines to spotting and combating mental health issues both in their own lives and in those of their children.
By all accounts this year’s Rhetoric parents found the day an informative and enjoyable experience. Many thanks to the inspiring guest speakers Dr. O’Brien and Ms. Egan from Headstrong and credit to Ms. Aisling English, Fr. Moloney, Mr. Kelly and Fr. McGuckian along with Ms. Cooke and all the Kitchen Staff for their efforts in running the event.
