During August Sean Monaghan (Rudiments) took part in the Dublin Horse Show at the RDS. Mounted on his horse Ballygawley Braveheart Sean competed very creditably in the event for 138cm ponies. Each year the pupils of Clongowes and Portora Royal School, Enniskillen compete for the Beckett-Joyce award, which honours two of our most famous writers and helps to link the schools which they each attended. Since 1990 Clongowes has hosted a very special holiday in mid July for the special needs pupils of St. Mark’s and St. Anne’s school in the Curragh.
