Drama classes at Clongowes - Clongowes Wood College

Posted: 8th October 2013

Drama classes in Clongowes will begin on Friday courtesy of Ms Rachel Field and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). Classes this year are being extended to one hour taking place between 6:00-10:00 pm on Friday evenings until the end of May.

While traditionally drama students who participate in these courses prepare for solo and group LAMDA exams in Acting and Public Speaking in term two, this year we are going to take a break from the exams and focus instead on preparing for a bigger performance to take place at the Clongowes Festival of Drama in the Spring term March/April of 2014.

Drama classes at Clongowes will focus on developing the students’ conversation, performance and creative skills; improving their ability to communicate with fluency and self-confidence which should expand their overall communication skills. Students will learn to make eye contact, to project their voices, to concentrate and to speak and act with conviction; useful skills both on stage and off.

Classes are lively and interactive with plenty of fun drama games and comedy improvisations. These drama games and activities engage the imagination of each student, encouraging creative development. Through improvisation students can express their thoughts and ideas and learn how to work effectively and confidently with their peers.

If you wish to discuss any aspect of the course or if you would like to reserve a place on the course for your son please email rachel@vivavoce.ie or text 086-3036172.
