All of our students board at Clongowes and is one of the great strengths of the school and one that creates a true living and learning community where the bonds of friendship quickly strengthen and grow.

At Clongowes, boys live among their peers in Year Groups. From Elements (1st Year) to Syntax (Fourth Year) boys live in very social dormitory (dorm) accommodation. The dorms are separated into cubicles (cubes) of between 1 to 4 beds. Boys can request a single cube or can ask to share with a friend or group of friends. Every half term there is a rotation of cubes so that students get to know each other well and experience living in the various different cube arrangements.

Each cube within the dorm is well equipped with sinks, plenty of wardrobe and storage space, a reading light, power outlets and comfortable beds. There are lots of social spaces within the dorms for catching up with friends, reading and relaxing.

Each prefect has an office and apartment within the dorm to ensure that adult guidance is always on hand. Students’ mobile phones are stored out of reach overnight beside the prefect’s office.

In the Higher Line (Poetry – 5th Year) and (Rhetoric – 6th Year) accommodation is mainly in single rooms with some double rooms en-suite available. The Poetry and Rhetoric buildings house all of the bedrooms, prefect apartments and offices as well as recreation rooms, kitchenettes and even a laundry room.

Higher Line accommodation comprises an integrated study desk and bookshelves, sinks, wardrobe and storage.
