The Clongowes Ladies’ Association
The Clongowes Ladies’ Association has been up and running successfully for the last fourteen years. The late Anne Ryan RIP and her colleagues were the major driving force behind the group, the purpose of which is to create social gatherings due to the fact that we mums/guardians come from all corners of Ireland and beyond. The Ladies’ Association is an organization of mums with sons in the school, who get together to create such gatherings.
The Co-Chairpersons for the 2024/2025 Clongowes Ladies Association are Mrs Ranjit Elliott and Mrs Ruth Sullivan.
The association has a Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer and there are representative mums appointed from each year to coordinate and liaise activities. The Association meets once a month on a Sunday before Mass and these meetings are open to all. Correspondence is sent via emails/texts.
The Ladies’ Association organises many events throughout the year. The Representatives for each year organise their own lunch/dinners, which are more intimate and these gatherings are truly rewarding socially. In addition, the Ladies’ Association organises the monthly coffee mornings, which take place on Sundays after Mass. You may have noticed the fruitfulness of cakes and bakes on those particular Sundays. The representative mums from each year are responsible for organising these events on a rota.
It really doesn’t matter what the event is – it is just about meeting other mothers and guardians of the boys in an informal setting and giving everyone a greater insight and interest into what goes on in Clongowes and the boys’ young lives.
