Since 2014, Aran Mc Mahon (OC ’88), of Mayo’s Rua Cafe and Delicatessen, has helped the boys of successive TY years put together an annual concourse Bake Sale to raise funds for the Duck Push and Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in Crumlin.
Aran and Rua head baker Derek Gallagher, (whose own son Daniel has benefited from the help of the wonderful team at Crumlin), have traditionally baked with the boys at the school kitchen, but Covid has put a hiatus on this year’s collaborative efforts.
The task of chief assistant falls this year upon Aran’s son Paddy who is now in Syntax / TY and helping with the bake and ensuring that we have a Covid version of ‘Cake for Crumlin ‘.
Priced at €40 including postage, the ‘Cake for Crumlin ’ box can be posted anywhere in Ireland.
You can include a handwritten note and send the box to friends, family or indeed, yourself!
The box contains:
1 X Loaf of Banana Bread
2 X Chocolate Brownies
2 X Pistachio Slices
2 X Bakewell Slices
1 X pot of Raspberry Jam
1 X pack of Shortbread.
100% of funds from this initiative will go to our fundraiser for medical equipment for Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin.
