On Sunday, March 10th, after Mass a number of students from Syntax will host a cake sale in the Concourse area featuring produce that they have baked and prepared in the Clongowes kitchen. Mr Aran McMahon (OC’88) who runs the award winning Rua Restaurant, Delicatessen and Shop in Castlebar has very kindly offered to help the boys to prepare the delicious treats, cake and breads that will be for sale. The students are looking forward to improving their baking skills and learning from Mr. McMahon whose boys Rory (OC’17) and Paddy (Rudiments) have had some of the best filled tuck boxes in the history of Clongowes!
There will be tasty eats and treats for everyone young and not so young with lemonade and hot chocolate to wash it all down. There will be complimentary tea and coffee as always but remember to bring euros and cents to take advantage of the opportunity to brighten up your culinary day and the week ahead! There will also be handy ‘Clongowes branded’ items including canvas tote bags, umbrellas, rugby balls and golf balls. We will have some seasonal plants to remind us of Spring and of course some live music to lift the spirits as well as a raffle for a beautiful Irish food hamper.
All funds raised will go towards The Clongowes Duck Push, which is once again raising monies to fund medical equipment for Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children, Crumlin.
Many thanks in advance for your support!
