Following the outstanding success of our first gathering in the Clongowes Leadership Series in January, when Patrick Coveney (OC’88), C.E.O. of Greencore Group, and Rossa White (OC’96), Chief  Economist with Davy Stockbrokers, addressed the topic: 'After the Tiger: Where We Are and What Do We Do Now? , we propose to hold a second such gathering in mid-May. On the previous occasion Patrick and Rossa spoke about their experiences in the world of business, the changing circumstances in which we all find ourselves, and the role Clongowes played in their own formation. They also considered the leadership role Clongowes can and should play at all kinds of levels in the coming years: the sub-title of this series is 'Becoming Men for Others'.

In the wake of the leading roles played by Clongownians in provincial and international rugby over recent seasons and the college's own leading part in Leinster Schools' rugby, climaxing in the outstanding victory of 17th March, it seems opportune to reflect on and celebrate this aspect of the college's public profile.

We would therefore be delighted if you could join us at the newly opened Aviva Stadium on the evening of Monday 17th May 2010 from 18.00-20.00hrs.  Kindly sponsored by Quality Events, the evening will begin with a reception at which light refreshments will be served. Afterwards Gordon D'Arcy (OC '98) and Rob Kearney (OC '04) will engage in a conversation on their experiences as players at the highest level of the game and the implications for leadership. In addition some of the members of this year's triumphant Panel One will bring their Cup and League trophies, won by Clongowes in the same season for the first time in our history. There will be time for questions and a more informal exchange in the latter part of the evening.

In January, some 250 Clongownians came along. This gathering offers a unique opportunity to see the newly-opened Aviva Stadium and mark a special moment in Clongowes history. Please R.S.V.P. by May 13th, 2010 by e-mail to aburns@clongowes.net or phone 045 902 334.  Please note spaces are limited, and that there is no parking available at the venue.

We greatly look forward to meeting you and many other members of the Clongowes Family on what promises to be a most interesting and enjoyable evening.

With our kind regards,

Sincerely,

Fr. Bruce Bradley S.J.
Rector
