Phase Two - Work in Progress

Science Art & Technology Building with Physic Garden to fore ground
New Art Room
The Science, Arts and Technology Building (SAT) embodies college campus of the future. The present facilities of these vital areas of the curriculum are in urgent need of renewal. The new SAT building will provide the most up to date conditions for teaching the subjects to the highest standards. It will encompass three dedicated laboratories and classrooms for each of the science subjects (physics, chemistry and biology). One of the classrooms will be adaptable as a demonstration/lecture room for up to eight students. The new art studio will include a clay workshop and dark room for photography and the building will also offer facilities for the teaching of technical graphics.
The SAT building will be located adjacent to the present Infirmary. Together with the new sports centre it will form two sides of a new quadrangle and sunken lawn, to be used for leisure and recreational purposes.
The Sports Centre & Pool

This building will bring together the impressive existing outdoor facilities of Clongowes with new indoor facilities. It will include a 1,000sq metre gymnasium, complete with climbing wall and playing courts; a 25 metre five lane swimming pool, with facilities for water sports activities; and related changing, training and storage facilities for outdoor and indoor sports.
The Sports Centre will be located adjacent to the Vincent Murray Park, the all-weather pitch inaugurated in 2004 in memory of Clongowes’ late, much loved deputy headmaster and outstanding rugby coach, who died in 1999. The sports centre is planned to become the new hub of sporting activity in the college.
